Professional Roof Cleaning Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon! Does your roof have any of the 3 Ms?

Mold, Moss or Mildew? If so then it’s probably time to get it cleaned! Even if it’s just debris, needles or leaves these can build up and clog your gutters and encourage the growth of nasty stuff on your roof.

All of this organic growth can actually eat away at your roof causing water damage, dry rot, and even mold issues when not addressed.

And at the end of the day this can seriously impact the life of your roof.

Why are people in Mount Vernon getting their roofs cleaned?

A clean roof is a safe roof as we say. Up here in the pacific northwest we have so many trees, rain, and lack of sunshine and all of these can wreak havoc on your roof!

I’ve personally seen a clogged gutter overflow into the home and cause thousands of dollars worth of damage.

One of the best preventions is keeping your roof and gutters cleaned and regularly maintained.

To do so we have several different methods that we typically suggest, but it depends on what you’re looking for and also what your budget is.

I’ll walk you through our top 3 roof cleaning services in order cost and effectiveness and what we typically do when we clean a roof in mount vernon.

Sodium Hypochlorite (chlorine bleach) Roof Wash

This is often regarded as the most effective way to clean and treat a roof.

Using a high strength bleach (gently applied by our trained technicians) this kills and prevents moss by bleaching the actual cells of the moss and other organisms. It works to produce a very clean roof and does not require any power washing as we only use low pressure to ensure your roof is not damaged in any way.

This is often many companies go to method but it does have a couple drawbacks. Mainly cost (it is the most expensive) and also concern for potentially damaging surrounding plants (those with large gardens or if you collect rainwater should probably avoid this method)

However we have cleaned hundreds of roofs with this method and it provides great results, ask us if it’s right for your roof!

Eco Friendly Oxygen Bleach Wash

This is my favorite cleaning process for many reasons. Mainly it is much less toxic than chlorine bleach (about the same strength as the hydrogen peroxide in your medicine cabinet) it is more cost effective (cheaper than the chlorine bleach) and it doesn’t kill surrounding plants nearly as much.

Using our very own Oxygen Bleach we can clean just about any roof and have it looking amazing the same day (see the above photo).

This kills algae growth, moss, and works for any type of roof whether you have an asphalt, cedar shake, metal, rubber, concrete tile or any other type of roof.

This soft wash solution is much better to work with and you will love the amazing job it does.

Standard Roof Clean and Moss Prevention

Our classic roof clean includes a basic blow off of all the debris, and a powder application of either zinc moss powder or other moss preventing chemical.

This is often the quickest way to clean and maintain your roof although it generally does not look as good as one of the all inclusive roof washing methods as stated above.

However this is usually the most cost effective and if you’re on a budget this can still be a great roof cleaning method for you.
